This wedding post is long overdue. A beautiful Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort wedding from this past summer, which took place on the literal hottest day of the year. It’s been over a year since I blogged their engagement session, but you can learn a little about them from it here.
This was my second Kiln Creek wedding for 2019, and the venue got even more amazing! Erick and Emily had originally planned an outdoor ceremony. However, with the heat index up near 120˚F, the venue allowed them to have the ceremony in a new space they just started offering. It is beautiful! It’s full of great natural light, and was really the perfect alternative to avoid guests (or others) possibly getting heat exhaustion. Despite that last-minute change, the ceremony went smoothly and beautifully. (And there was a doggie “ring-bearer” so that made it even better!)
After the ceremony, we found a shaded area big enough for the whole family and all of the wedding party photos. Then we headed out onto the golf course for couples’ portraits. Despite trying to stay in the shade, we were all very sweaty and hot after a few, but we still got some really beautiful images!
The reception room was very beautifully decorated, as always, in a blue and yellow theme. During the reception, Erick & Emily personally passed out traditional Puerto Rican “capias” to every guest, a beautiful little token to thank each person for coming to share this wonderful day with them. I always find the different traditions from around the world so interesting and I love seeing couples include heritage and culture in their big day.
The guests at this Kiln Creek Golf Club & Resort wedding included a very diverse group of friends and family, which made the party so much fun! Almost EVERYONE danced at some point and we captured so many adorable and fun moments throughout the night.
With the heat being so high still in the early evening, the couple decided to do their exit indoors – something I hadn’t tried before, but we were all very happy with the results!
