Small, intimate weddings often end up being my favorites. This intimate Colonial Williamsburg Wedding fit that bill perfectly. Abbie & Chris had been planning a very small ceremony with just immediate family and no photographer. However, as planning progressed, more guests were added to the event and eventually it turned into a little bit more than they had anticipated. They also decided, with only a few weeks left before their big day, that they wanted to have a photographer as well. I was honored to be chosen and am so glad that I was available!
My time with Abbie & Chris began at their reception location (a common room at a condo complex near the ceremony location). I took a few getting ready shots, a few little details, and then we did a first look while both sets of parents stood as audience. Their first look was so sweet and went flawlessly!
After some family portraits and a few of the couple, we headed over to the ceremony location, planned for the front gate area at the Governor’s Palace. This spot was perfect for this intimate Colonial Williamsburg wedding! There was just enough space for everyone to stand while Abbie & Chris shared their nuptials. The background was perfect and the lighting was too!
Not only was the location (and practically everything else) so perfect, they also had a close friend perform their ceremony – who dressed in a beautiful colonial dress! That was such a sweet touch!
Since the bride and her entourage arrived at the ceremony location a little later than planned (these things happen all the time!), we almost ran out of light, but with the amazing technology of digital photography, their portraits turned out absolutely beautiful!
By and far, this intimate Colonial Williamsburg wedding stands out among others – not only did everything work out great for the couple, but, as many of my clients are, they were definitely some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
