A Perfect Time for Gifts
Two surprise gifts arrived for me (one I had to share with my hubby…you’ll see why). It seems like such an “old-school” ideal, to send thank you gifts or “just-because” gifts, so I was very flattered to receive these.
My first surprise gift (well, sort of surprise – I had been told about it at the wedding) was truly unique and personal. I was so touched that Lia, mother of the bride for one of my November weddings, not only remembered that I love elephants when she came across these beautiful turquoise elephant beads, she even had her friend make me a bracelet and earring set with them. Such a sweet and personal gift, and I love it!
These earrings and bracelet are definitely going to get some use! They will be so cute with a little black dress!
Amazing Neighbors
My OTHER surprise gift came from much closer to home. My neighbors (who are the best neighbors ever may I add) took a three-week trip to Germany and France to visit family. They had mentioned bringing back a beer from a French Monastery, but my husband and I definitely didn’t expect all of this! Six different types of beer (we’re craft beer snobs if you didn’t know already!), a bunch of different types of candy and cookies, a fridge magnet, and beer coasters.
One of the beers was sooooo yummy – well, all of them were good, but the chocolate stout was by far my favorite (of course that’s always my favorite – aside from coffee porters… and stouts, and bocks, and alt beers, and, well, I like it all).
Both of these gifts were so perfect in every way. I cannot even begin to explain how moved I am to have even been thought of by both of these people. I am truly blessed, even in the smallest manner. Thank you so much!
