OMG! Soooo many things I love about this fall wedding at Greenbrier Farms. The season, the weather, the farm, the decor…but really, this time, it’s mostly the bride and groom. And when I say love, I really mean love – these two are my family! Scott is my first and oldest nephew – the boy that made me an aunt at 8 years old. (And the one that probably triggered my life goal to *never* have kids 🤣 🤣 🤣). Really though, we were closer to brother and sister for a long time in the beginning. Then the rest of my six biological nephews (and many step-nieces and nephews!) came along and I LOVED every bit of it. Being an aunt at such a young age, I got to spend so much time with all of them when they were little and was always so excited when a new baby was arriving. I adored helping take care of them (until they got about 7 – then they just got on my nerves!). Now that they are grown, and I don’t have any of my own children (I do have a beautiful step-daughter!), I try to be a part of their lives as much as they will have me. And I was absolutely honored that Scott and Abby asked me to take photos at their wedding.
A Beautiful Fall Day at Greenbrier Farms
Scott and Abby have a large and loving family and a wonderful tight-knit group of friends that made this wedding at Greenbrier Farms so intimate and fun! The day was beautiful and warm. Everything went smoothly and everyone was a part of something. Friends and family spent the hours before the ceremony decorating and bringing the farm to life with fall colors and rustic displays. Their cake was simple, but so perfect – I just love the initials on the side!
As you’ll see in the photos, the day wasn’t just about the couple. It was also about their two beautiful little girls (and a new puppy – a surprise gift from the girls to Scott!). First dances with each other and with parents turned into family dances with the girls. And how adorable were they? The night drifted into the party with spirits high and everyone having a blast. I even got to enjoy the festivities and visit with family a little also (and I even got a good photo of me at a wedding with a guest!).
I’m a sucker for love!
Looking at these photos again brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of Scott and Abby and what they’ve both accomplished separately and together. We are all so lucky to have them and their girls in our family – and I can’t wait to meet their newest addition recently announced!!!
