Bridal Portraits seem to be going the way of the film camera – they are getting more and more (or less??) traditional and fewer modern brides care to have these classic portraits of themselves. I have been lucky to have a few brides ask for these pre-wedding sessions in the past few years. Regardless of tradition or modernization, there is always a place for a beautiful bridal portrait on canvas in your home.
I was disappointed when I couldn’t attend Joanne & Donnie’s wedding due to a previous booking, but I am so glad I got to capture some amazing photos of them for their engagement session, and now I can finally share the bridal portraits I took of Joanne a few months ago. We were determined to get her some beautiful, frame-worthy photographs to hang on her wall, so this mini-bridal session in her parent’s backyard was a perfect way to get a handful of beautiful images for her.
If your wedding budget is tight, but you still would love some amazing portraits, consider a bridal session with me. It’s a great way to have a gorgeous wedding portrait of you for years to come when you can’t have a professional at your wedding (although I would love to do both for you if we can make it happen!). There are so many reasons to hire a professional with all of the right experience and equipment to make images that portray you in the best way possible. Our phones can do amazing things these days, but can you print those photos on a 20×24 canvas and hang it in your living room? Are you sure your great-grandchildren will be able to view that photo of you in your wedding dress 50 years from now on advanced technology?
In a future post, I will be talking about why it is so important to have quality photos and why you should print your favorite images now, and why you should NOT rely on retail photo printers to archive your wedding memories.
