Downtown Hampton Engagement Session | Ellen & Alan

When I first met Ellen and her mom for a consultation about their November wedding, I knew that we would be a great match, but since Alan was not available for the consultation, their engagement session was even more important to me. Thankfully we were able to make a downtown Hampton engagement session work on a gorgeous day this summer, and we had a great time getting to know each other and making some beautiful images.

We realized we have a lot in common – which ALWAYS makes everyone feel so much more comfortable together. Ellen and Alan both live near Blacksburg, Virginia. If you know me at all, you know that I absolutely LOVE the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountain area. If I could easily relocate there, I would in a heartbeat. They also both love playing a computer game that I was recently addicted to playing! And, among other things, they are animal lovers too!

We started near St. John’s Episcopal Church on W. Queen Street and I immediately saw that the light was going to be perfect for our session! We stopped at several spots between there and Mill Point Park and then circled around the back of Bull Island Brewery to get some shots with the water in the background. These two were completely into each other – snuggling without cue, and chatting away the walks between scenes. They definitely have a strong connection and it was beautiful to see! I am positive that their wedding is going to be gorgeous!

These are the last engagements of the year and I can’t say enough positive things about all of the amazing couples I’ve had for 2017. Offering complimentary engagement sessions with my wedding package has turned out to be the perfect way to connect with my clients and really learn about their likes and dislikes, their ideas and hopes for their wedding day, how to best direct them, and what types of photos they like the best. I will definitely be continuing these complimentary sessions for next year!
