Newport News Wedding Photographer | A Nautical Affair at Mariner’s Museum

I met Danielle and Ian over a year before their wedding date. At our meeting, I learned that we had so much in common! We did their engagement session between Mariner’s Museum Park and the grounds on Christopher Newport University (Danielle and I are both alumni of CNU!).  They were a pretty quiet couple, but beyond genuine, and I instantly felt like we could be friends!

They met while they were both playing in a local adult kickball league and fell in love!  Such a lucky thing to find someone who loves the things you do – like sports, camping, cooking (and eating amazing food!), bike riding and seeking out new and unique beers and wines at local festivals and breweries (my favorite thing about them!).

When I asked them what their most anticipated part of the day was, it was the party. This is where they really connect, among friends and family, sharing their favorite wines and brews. It was even hard to keep up with them at the reception – they were all over the place with their guests!

We started their day with a sweet First Look followed by portraits, wedding party pics, more portraits, and then their beautiful blue and blush ceremony in the Mariner’s Museum courtyard. Dancing, dinner, and drinks ensued shortly after the new Mr. and Mrs. Fluke were married and presented by one of their best friends. Let me say that it was a great time! Everyone had a blast taking selfies at the DIY photobooth and dancing the night away. After dinner, we took the couple out to get a special night shot by the fountain (of course I did more than that one and they look amazing!). All weddings must end no matter how much fun you are having, but the party carried on until the final moments before the couple exited under a canopy of glow sticks.

Congratulations you guys! You are such a cute and sweet couple – I can’t wait to see what the future brings for you!
