Always an Honor
I absolutely loved being asked to shoot Kasey & Josh’s wedding. It is truly an honor when even a distant second-cousin loves your work enough to hire you! Although they weren’t super interested in an engagement session, I wasn’t going to get another chance to meet Josh in person before the wedding, so I did a little nudging to get them to meet me in Phoebus for a mini engagement session. And I’m so glad they agreed! Capturing these memories for them in a natural environment without all of the hustle-bustle of the wedding day meant the world to me. I just know that they will cherish these moments, especially the one with baby K! (Isn’t she just the cutest?)
How Kasey met Josh
These two met via social media, but didn’t start dating until they happened to run into each other while out and about. They love enjoying good food together and, of course, spending time with their sweet baby girl. Josh’s favorite things about Kasey include her amazing eyes (and they are just WOW!), her admirable personality and her strong ambition. Kasey loves Josh’s smile, his goofy-ness, and, of course, his laugh.
Mini Engagement Session in Old-Town Phoebus
We decided on Phoebus for their mini engagement session. There are so many different aspects of the small, old-town Hampton area to use in the photos. (It’s an awesome place to visit, too!). Also, everything is compact and in close proximity, which made a mini engagement session here a great idea. Buildings that have been in use for over 100 years offered great backdrops. We also took advantage of several small “nooks” with great light before finally walking to the pier at the end of Mellen St. to catch some last-minute golden-hour light – which made a perfect close to the session.
