Sometime late last year, Donnie’s brother John bought Donnie and Joanne an engagement session with me. I was very excited because they are relatives of my step mom that I’ve never met! The goal was to shoot in the fall, but my schedule was pretty packed and the only date we had that we could work out ended up being cold, rainy and cloudy, so we rescheduled. Then came time for the second appointment…and it was about 30 degrees outside, so we rescheduled again. I am SOOOO glad we did! The date we chose ended up being prime cherry blossom season (and those only last about 2 weeks!) and the field at the front of Fort Monroe is filled with Cherry Blossom trees!
We had a really great time walking the area – It’s so beautiful out there! (If you haven’t been – GO! I can’t recommend it enough for a nice day outside!) Their beautiful daughter came along with John (to keep the little one busy for the couple shots of course). At first she wanted nothing to do with the photos, but warmed up to the idea after she got to see everyone else having fun (and the promise of ice cream after!) The three outfits they chose were perfect for each spot we went to, with deep blue and peach for formals, bright turquoise and blue for the beach, and these faithful redskin fans perfectly matched the cherry blossoms in their “Team Emond” burgundy and yellow shirts!
Thank you guys so much for having me take these for you! Many wishes for a beautiful, fun and long future together!
