This Yorktown engagement session was born straight out of a romance movie. These two have one of the sweetest stories I’ve heard in the 7+ years I’ve been doing wedding photography. Also, Cora and Andrew were super cuddly during our whole session since they hadn’t seen each other in a few months. (Cora lives abroad and Andrew attends VMI here in Virginia.) Who doesn’t love that?!
So, how did they meet? They were the maid of honor and best man and Cora’s sister’s wedding! They spent a lot of time getting to know each other throughout the wedding planning, events, get-togethers, and such. After getting friendly, they really hit it off. Love romance? One of their first dates was the VMI Ring Figure Ball where Cora traveled all the way back to the states to attend with him!
The romance doesn’t stop there! The proposal took place in the gardens at Edinburgh in Scotland. Could you just imagine how beautiful that was!?! They were enjoying the scenery when Cora’s desire to get some coffee turned into “a lot more than coffee” with Andrew dropping to one knee. 😊😊 I really wish I could have witnessed that cherished moment!
Why did they choose a Yorktown engagement session?
A Yorktown engagement session was perfect for what Cora and Andrew enjoy the most – traveling and quiet walks in nature together. I also learned that Andrew actually works for the Dockmaster at Yorktown Beach during the summers. That’s a pretty cool job in my book! However, we didn’t start at Yorktown Beach but instead stopped off at Ferguson Center for the Arts to avoid some showers that were finishing up that morning. When we got to Yorktown, we had most of the beach and park areas to ourselves for the whole rest of the session since the weather wasn’t the best! Lucky us!
After seeing how in love these guys are, I can’t wait to watch them get married in a couple of months!
