I have been a photographer of people since 2011. I’ve always loved photography and the memories that a camera can capture, especially with lifestyle photography. (Lifestyle photography is capturing daily events candidly in a photo-journalistic manner.) Of course, in the beginning, it was about getting an amazing landscape photo to hang on my wall. Then I realized that those photos, although beautiful, lacked something. I felt little connection to the photos I had taken, although I loved many of them – so much that I had several printed that hung on my office wall at my “day job.” When I lost that day job, I felt lost myself. Every day was the same boring routine. Get up, get on the computer, look for jobs. Then someone asked me to take pictures of their family. I was surprised to say the least – that anyone thought my landscape photos made me a worthy family photographer. I did those family photos, and then I did a few more, and then I got a website. Things progressed from there.
I bring all of this up because today I am sharing not only one of my favorite types of photography, but a favorite family, too. This family has been a client – well I’m starting to feel more like their friend than their photographer – since I started. They trusted me to take family photos from the very beginning, and it humbles me every time I visit their home to see the first few photos I took for them hanging on their walls. This year I wanted to do something special for them – not only because they have been such amazing and gracious clients for all these years, but also for all of the clients they’ve referred to me over the years.
A great day for Strawberries!
These guys do so much fun stuff together and they love to go berry picking so a trip to the strawberry field was a great choice for a photo shoot. All three of these adorable red-headed boys had a blast finding and picking the biggest and reddest strawberries I have ever seen!
See more family photos here. I hope to get more clients who love the lifestyle photography sessions as much as I do!
