These engagements at Colonial Williamsburg were so much fun! I love that area – there are so many options for backgrounds and lighting. Kristie & Jeff are one of many who had to postpone their wedding celebration due to COVID. Since their wedding is now planned for early this summer, I thought that I should probably go ahead and share their beautiful engagements at Colonial Williamsburg.
We started around the Governor’s mansion first, using some very beautifully lit areas with trees, grass, and wooden fencing. it was super chilly that day, being in December, so we did a lot of taking off and putting coats back on! Having engagements at Colonial Williamsburg during December is definitely a treat – and would be great for family photos too! The decorations are everywhere, and we put them to good use. There was even an ice skating rink set up – that would be so much fun with a family!
After wondering around the main areas for a while, we decided to move to a beach area on Colonial Parkway. The spot Kristie & Jeff suggested worked out perfectly. As it was getting close to sunset, we got a treat as the warm orange sunlight lit up trees in the background, making the lingering fall colors shine! The remaining soft light of the afternoon was great for some more intimate portraits. And the sunset itself was amazing over the James River – I’ll definitely need to revisit that spot again in the future! It was just perfect for some beautiful silhouettes.
I REALLY hope that these two are able to finally have the wedding of their dreams at the Williamsburg Winery this summer – I can’t wait to work with them again!
