A Sweet Hampton Engagement Session

Hampton is Home

Despite shooting several Hampton engagement sessions, I haven’t had many Hampton residents for clients. This couple, however, is an exception as they live only 5 minutes away from me! We talked several times before meeting. Justin is a truck driver, so tying down a time when all of us were available took some time. When we finally got to meet for our consultation, we had a great time chatting. One of the best parts of meeting with my clients is the ability to actually get to know them a little before they get in front of my lens!

The Best Graduation Gift

In the past, I’ve had several clients that had been dating since high school. These two, however, didn’t date in high school, but did know each other. It was their time together at college that brought them close. It was at the closing of that chapter in their lives that Justin asked Marissa to marry him. What an amazing graduation gift!

With so many things in common, I’m not surprised one bit that these two tied the knot. They both love the Virginia Tech area. Their visits up there often involve camping and wine tasting (I love Virginia wine too!!) Like many of us these days, they both enjoy nights of “Netflix and chill”. When I asked them to tell me what they loved the most about the other, they weren’t short of words at all. Justin loves how supportive, passionate, and, of course, adorable Marissa is. Her favorite things about Justin are his smile, how great he listens, and the “twinkle in his eye when he’s talking about something that he is really passionate about.” (She also mentioned that his cuddling skills are on-point, and she wishes he did that a little more often…lol.)

Fun Times

We had to shoot their engagement session pretty close to their wedding day to get some great weather and decided to do their engagement session in Hampton at Fort Monroe. Although it was pretty chilly still in March, they were great sports and had a lot of fun. There was lots of giggling, plenty of smiles and kisses, and even some face licking (hahaha!).
