There is so much I can say about Amber & Michael’s rural Virginia wedding this past October in White Stone. We could talk about the beautiful scenery, Amber’s amazing and hospitable family, her adorable niece (who happens has my favorite girl-name ever) … Or I could tell you about how sweet, fun, and amazing this couple is. They met me at another awesome couple’s wedding (take a look here) in 2017 and decided that I was the perfect person to photograph their wedding. (And, their “how’d you meet?” story is even similar to the other couple’s! – You can read it on their engagement session blog here.)
Wedding planning for these two involved trying to incorporate as much tradition and “things of the past” into the day. Amber carried an aged handkerchief with lace and mementos from her family’s history. She also used lace from her mother’s wedding gown to have a custom neckline and sleeves created for her own dress – I just love this idea!
Everything was classic and simple – no frills for this rural Virginia wedding – with haybales for ceremony seating, beautiful glass bead lamps on each reception table, a homemade wedding cake (which was delicious), and a local favorite diner serving breakfast for dinner (my fav!). DJ JulzGat provided guests with the perfect mix of music and had practically everyone dancing their butts off even before dinner!
Overall, this was a beautiful, elegant, and FUN wedding – as you’ll see from the images. This one goes right to the top ten (except for the drive over that CRAZY long/tall/skinny bridge that takes you over the Rappahannock River – I could definitely do without that!) Thank you guys so much for trusting me with these memories! Wishing you all the best for the future (and tons of puppy kisses from Frankie!).
